I’m Lizzie, wife to my soulmate Jamie (rugby player with Northampton Saints and blogger over at Butter Wouldn’t Melt), mother to two of the best baby boys a mummy could ask for, and also recent founder of Pannacotta, a luxury baby brand. Home is in the English countryside – though we hop into London a lot!
A native islander, I was born in Jersey, a little rock afloat in the English Channel. I spent my days in the open air: on the beach, with friends, wet hair and surfboards, or somewhere in the grounds of Les Niemes, our old family home where I whiled away summers in tennis games with my coach, hide and seek in the greenhouses, attics and cellars, lawn parties on warm summer nights, blackberry picking on the winding narrow lanes – with a much-loved housekeeper to cause mischief for – combing for chestnuts and conkers in autumn, pumpkin growing in the kitchen gardens at halloween and glittering christmas parties, far too quickly come and gone. I love all our seasons and would fail to live where it is always summer.
I attended Brasenose College, Oxford to read Classics and spent some of the happiest days of my life there. I loved the course, the city, the people and
my college. It was a beautiful chapter in my past.
I met my soulmate on our first day there – was determinedly chased and courted for many months, and fell hopelessly in love until I couldn’t imagine a day without him. I married him five years later.
Now I’m a full-time mother to our treasured little boys, nestled in the English countryside and running our businesses, Pannacotta and Butter Wouldn’t Melt, from home.
We go wherever my husband’s rugby career takes us next. Life is an adventure, never knowing where we’ll end up next. The only thing in the world I can’t imagine is life without my three boys – everything else fits in around them.
