Home from hospital, we’ve been spending every day of the last week cuddling and kissing our new bundle of joy. It’s also been a glorious time to look back over the many photos taken during our time at the Lindo Wing. We’ve got thousands, but we’ve pulled out some of our favourites.
Henry James Spilsbury Gibson was born at the Lindo Wing, St Mary’s Hospital, London, at 9.38 am on Sunday 9th October 2016 by caesarean section, weighing 4.080 kg. He was four days overdue so we were getting very anxious to meet the little rascal who was apparently just a bit too cosy in mummy’s tummy to come out into the fresh autumn air! Just like his big brother, he’s an incredibly content baby, sleeping most of the time but ravenous when he wakes. Whenever I nurse him he just gazes up at me with the brightest little eyes that take in everything and snuggles into me for the warmest cuddles which is pure heaven, while his daddy’s big bear arms are the cosiest place for being rocked to sleep on a full tummy of milk!
Guy has been such an amazing big brother too, bringing the little one new nappies and fresh muslins (sometimes stealing them too!) and most adorably giving him plenty of kisses which he plants so gently on Henry’s cheek and forehead, it makes my heart melt every time.
So a happy first week to our baby Henry – I’m cherishing every single day as your mummy, as are your daddy and big brother too! Life has changed again in the best of ways.
Afternoon tea was served in a style similar to something at Fortnum and Masons and the pastries tasted like something out of a Parisian bakery, so Jamie was in clover as we grazed on the lot while studying our little one’s face and taking in every detail about him. They are such happy memories of one of the most special times of our lives – every bit as magical as with our first.
